NEW YORK (NEWS10) \u2014 On Monday, February 13, an online auction of items deemed to be surplus by the state is slated to get underway.<\/p>\n

The majority of the objects that are up for auction will be listed on GovDeals for a period of seven days, and the auctions themselves will take place at the new State of New York Auction Site on GovDeals.<\/p>\n

“From the typical office furniture, computer equipment, and tools to the less typical collectible sneakers, sports memorabilia, and lost-and-found jewelry, online auctions have proven to be an effective and popular way for OGS to sell the New York State government’s surplus property,” said Commissioner Moy.<\/p>\n

Before they are allowed to participate in the auction, visitors to the website are forced to first pre-register. There is no charge for registering.<\/p>\n
