After the body of a New Jersey kindergarten teacher was discovered in a shallow grave, police have detained at least one of at least two suspects in the case.<\/p>\n

U.S. marshals arrested 36-year-old Cesar Santana at a Miami hotel on Friday; he is being held on murder charges in the killing of 33-year-old Luz Hernandez.<\/p>\n

Hernandez’s estranged spouse Santana was originally reported missing after she failed to show up to work at the BelovED Charter School.<\/p>\n

Although Santana has not been accused of killing his ex-wife, he will likely face more charges in New Jersey once he is extradited there. The pair had three children together.<\/p>\n

Santana is accused of desecrating a grave and hiding human remains.<\/p>\n

Leiner Miranda Lopez, 26, another suspect, is wanted for the same crimes but has yet to be located.<\/p>\n

Santana and Lopez were linked to the crime because they were both stopped for a traffic violation on February 5 near where Hernandez’s body was found.<\/p>\n

The autopsy found that the victim had died from head trauma and neck compression.<\/p>\n
