Officially, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and State Police Supt. Patrick Callahan is the defendant.<\/p>\n The new lawsuit challenges “sensitive sites” designations for parks, beaches, recreational facilities, playgrounds, areas owned or controlled by a state, county, or local government entity, youth sports events, an airport or public transportation hub, and numerous healthcare institutions.<\/p>\n The lawsuit states that the New Jersey Legislature wanted to “continue reducing the carry of handguns as much as possible” in these “sensitive” places.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are still appealing for a declaratory judgment against the offensive tenets of this legislation,\u201d SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb said.<\/p>\n
