There has been a noticeable decline in the quality of the air in both Florida and New York City. The same seems to be true in Illinois, where many people are crammed into dirty urban centers.<\/p>\n

Florida<\/strong>, Illinois<\/strong>, and New York<\/strong> are not the only states where people are affected by the daily addition of a high number of dangerous chemicals and particles to the air.<\/p>\n

Should we be concerned that black people are disproportionately affected by pollution in the air?<\/p>\n

A recent study shows that minorities, especially African-Americans, are disproportionately affected by air pollution. This means they are at greater risk than white people for experiencing breathing difficulties due to low air quality.<\/p>\n

Minority groups in the United States, including those of Asian and Hispanic descent, are experiencing difficulties regardless of socioeconomic status. One of the main causes of this is the concentration of Black populations in and around urban industrial cores.<\/p>\n
