According to a press release from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, John Formisano was found guilty of first-degree murder for the 2019 murder of his wife Christie Formisano at their home in Jefferson Township, New Jersey, some 45 miles west of New York City.<\/p>\n

People earlier claimed that the former couple was split and lived apart at the time of her murder.<\/p>\n

John, 52, was found guilty of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree official misconduct, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree obstructing apprehension or prosecution following an eight-day trial, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

According to WCBS-TV, Christie’s mother reportedly read a letter written by the couple’s now 11-year-old daughter as he was sentenced to decades in jail on Monday.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire at a Jefferson Township residence on 14 July 2019<\/strong>. Christie, 37, was discovered dead on the front porch steps upon arrival.
