Ten days after family and friends last heard from them, the United States Coast Guard said on Tuesday that two men and a companion dog had been rescued from a sailboat 200 miles off the coast of Delaware.<\/p>\n

Both 65-year-old Kevin Hyde and 76-year-old Joe Ditomasso set sail from Cape May, New Jersey, bound for Marathon, Florida. Nonetheless, after setting sail from the Outer Banks of North Carolina on December 3, the Atrevida II vanished without a trace.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, after receiving word that the two sailors were missing, the Coast Guard said that a search would be conducted from Florida to New Jersey. The search included commercial and recreational vessels, as well as U.S. Navy vessels and aircraft.<\/p>\n

The Coast Guard said that on Tuesday, Hyde and Ditomasso waved their arms to get the attention of the crew of the Silver Muna tanker ship while they were about 12 nautical miles off the coast of Delaware.

According to the Coast Guard, the sailboat’s lack of gasoline or electricity left its radios and navigation equipment unusable.<\/p>\n

Just after 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the guys and their dog were hauled aboard the tanker. According to the Coast Guard, there are no urgent concerns based on the medical team’s assessment.<\/p>\n
