During a traffic check on Long Island, authorities say they discovered a ghost gun and drugs in the possession of a 22-year-old<\/strong> man who is now facing charges in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

According to the Nassau County Police, Shemar Freire, who is from Union City, New Jersey, was pulled over by police at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, December 5, while he drove in Inwood, close to the intersection of Sheridan and Doughty boulevards.<\/p>\n

It is said that law enforcement officers detained him owing to the overly heavy window tint on his vehicle.<\/p>\n

During the subsequent inquiry, the police stated that they discovered a loaded semi-automatic ghost pistol along with marijuana inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The lack of serial numbers and the fact that ghost guns are often constructed at home from kits renders them impossible to track down. Since April 2022<\/strong>, they have been against the law in the state of New York.<\/p>\n

The arrest of Freire on multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as unlawful possession of cannabis and violations of vehicle and traffic legislation, took place without any incident.<\/p>\n
