SOUTH BRUNSWICK \u2014 A truck driver has been charged with two counts of assault by auto for allegedly running a red light on Route 1 last week and striking a vehicle in which two 16-year-olds were seriously injured.<\/p>\n

The incident is said to have occurred when the light was red, and the truck driver is accused of failing to stop for the light.<\/p>\n

According to the South Brunswick police, the individual named in the allegations is Rusian Naumyk, who resides in Brooklyn, New York.<\/p>\n

At approximately 10:31 p.m. on November 30, Naumyk was driving a tractor-trailer northbound on Route 1.<\/p>\n

According to the police, he failed to stop for a red traffic light and collided with a Honda Accord that was headed west on Route 522.<\/p>\n

The man who was driving the Honda, a father from South Brunswick who was 58 years old, along with his two passengers, his son, and a friend who were both 16 years old and also from South Brunswick, were all transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.<\/p>\n

According to the authorities, although the adolescents sustained critical wounds, they are anticipated to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n

During the course of the inquiry, both witnesses and video of the collision were located, and it was confirmed that the traffic light had been red for the driver on Route 1 for a total of six seconds prior to the collision, as stated by the police.<\/p>\n
