CITY OF NEW JERSEY \u2014 On Sunday afternoon, the proprietor of a jewellery store reported to police that his store had been robbed of over $500,000 worth of cash and jewellery. The proprietor told police that he had no insurance on the stolen property.<\/p>\n

Waheed Akbary, the store’s owner, told ABC 7 Eyewitness News that the robbers forced three employees and five customers to the ground before stealing 0,000 worth of jewels.<\/p>\n

A child of about three years old was among the clients.<\/p>\n

One of the burglars allegedly threatened to shoot Akbary’s working wife if she didn’t open the safe. The robbers assumed another worker had pressed a “panic button” to notify the police, so they threatened her with a knife.<\/p>\n

Waheed Akbary said the criminals cleaned him out in two minutes and put the jewels into black bags during the theft, which was seen on camera by a store across the street.<\/p>\n

It was a complete and utter financial disaster. Despite repeated jewellery store robberies, Waheed Akbary said he did not insure any of his products.<\/p>\n
