In a news release from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the agency stated that diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain are the most often reported symptoms of sporadic gastroenteritis caused by Sapoviruses.<\/p>\n

The FDA reports that the average onset of symptoms is within 48 hours. Officials warned that anyone who has recently had raw oysters in (13 states) and is worried they may have food poisoning should consult a doctor right away.<\/p>\n

Customers and vendors in the following states were also subject to the FDA’s advisory: Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
