The Chiefs selected Kelce in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was a member of the University of Cincinnati football team. He’s been to five Pro Bowls and four All-Pro games.<\/p>\n
Travis Michael Kelce was born in Westlake, Ohio, on October 5, 1989.
\nHe was a three-sport athlete at Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and excelled in football, basketball, and baseball.<\/p>\n
He was a three-year letter winner at quarterback for the Tigers and was named All-Lake Erie League as a senior after collecting 2,539 yards of total offense. He was regarded as a two-star prospect following his senior year of high school.<\/p>\n
Kelce received scholarship offers from Akron, Eastern Michigan, and Miami universities. He chose to play for the University of Cincinnati, however. He joined his brother Jason Kelce, the Bearcats’ starting left guard.<\/p>\n
He had eight rushes for 47 yards and two touchdowns in 2009 and one reception for three yards. Kelce was suspended from the squad in 2010 for breaking the rules.<\/p>\n
He set personal marks in receptions (45), receiving yards (722), yards per reception (16.0), and receiving touchdowns in his last college season (8). He was also voted Tight End of the Year at the College Football Performance Awards.<\/p>\n
Kelce was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He agreed to a four-year, $3.12 million contract with a $703,304 signing bonus. He only appeared in one game during his first season.<\/p>\n
