About seven years ago, the couple began researching international programs. Since then, they’ve been blessed with a daughter, Sylvie, who was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Dave tells PEOPLE exclusively, “I feel like God laid [it] on our hearts that she was ours, and right when you realized, it was simply like, ‘Yup.’ It’s like a key in a lock.” “The emotion of it was incredibly comparable to the birth of our bio children — that first time touching them,” Jenny says. I’m getting choked up just remembering it since it was so extraordinary.

You better watch out, because Jenny and Dave Marrs are coming for your HGTV title! The Fixer to Fabulous cast and the Fixer Upper hosts share many similarities (in addition to their shows having very similar titles). Jenny and Dave, like the Gaineses, present an HGTV show in which they use their remodeling skills to revitalize run-down properties; however, in Fixer to Fabulous, all of the houses featured are Jenny and Dave’s native Bentonville, Ark.

That’s not the only thing they have in common, though! Jenny and Dave, like Chip and Joanna, are parents to five cute children. Many are curious as to whether or not they will soon be adding to their brood; after all, what’s one more child when you already have five? Get to know Jenny and Dave’s adorable offspring right away. Ben and Nate, their twin 12-year-old sons, are their oldest. Then there’s Charlotte, 8, Sylvie, 10, and Luke, 2, who will turn 2 in September 2021.

Dave and Jenny adopted a baby girl named Sylvie in November 2012. Sylvie was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. While they had been looking at adoption procedures in Russia and Ethiopia, they found Sylvie’s profile and instantly realized she belonged in their family. It was a whole other ballgame to figure out how to get Sylvie to their house. Despite becoming their legal child in August 2013, she was unable to return home until July 2014 due to the shutdown of the Congolese government, which essentially barred all adopted children from leaving the country.

Further, Jenny had gotten pregnant with Charlotte but was unable to see Sylvie because of the risks involved with her own pregnancy. When Sylvie, then age 2, arrived in the United States, she was greeted by two older brothers and an eight-week-old infant sister. When September 2019 rolled around, Luke joined the family.

Read More: Catherine Mcbroom Pregnant? Is a Fourth Member of The Ace Family on The Way?
