(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home/newjerseylocalne/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114Grey’s Anatomy is getting ready for another transformative season with five new cast members joining, including Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, and Midori Francis. The show has successfully reinvented itself multiple times and undergone numerous casting changes.

In a first-look video, the popular ABC medical drama introduces the new cast members, all of whom are first-year surgical residents, and gives viewers a glimpse of some of the new dynamics at Grey Sloan, which was told to dissolve and reassemble its teaching program in the Season 18 finale.

The video (which you can watch below) opens with Meredith (played by Pompeo), the temporary chief of surgery, giving the new group a tour of the facility. Given a chance at Grey Sloan, the interns are said to be “diamonds in the rough” who may not have been accepted elsewhere.

Each new cast member provides a brief summary of their characters, which is followed by an excerpt from a scene in which they appear.

One of the new residents (Kane) also (possibly accidentally) sleeps with an attending, Link, in a nod to the Grey’s Anatomy pilot, which famously began with Meredith having a one-night stand with Patrick Dempsey’s Derek (Chris Carmack).

Additionally, it appears from the clip that Meredith and Nick (Scott Speedman) are no longer at odds after their major falling out in the Season 18 finale. After fulfilling his one-year series regular commitment, Speedman will be recurring on the show in the upcoming season, as we previously reported.

Every other Season 18 series regular who made it to the finale is back, and we get a glimpse of them in the video, with Bailey played by Chandra Wilson, Owen played by Kevin McKidd, and Teddy played by Kim Raver, all of whom were involved in potentially career-ending cliffhangers in the finale, all of whom are clearly dressed casually.

This season, “a second chance is a big theme for both the interns and many of the characters you already know and love,” according to Floyd.

The first time Ellen Pompeo has spoken out about her diminished on-screen role on Grey’s Anatomy in the upcoming season is on Friday. For the upcoming 19th season of ABC’s top scripted series, Pompeo will only appear in eight episodes, as Deadline exclusively revealed last month. During this time, she is executive producing and starring in an eight-episode Hulu limited series titled Untitled Orphan.

Pompeo told Deadline today on the red carpet for the Disney Legends ceremony at the D23 Expo that she will continue to narrate the show as Meredith and that “[Grey’s] is] still going to be just fine without me.

” She expressed her desire for her fans to “come with me” and watch the Hulu drama in which she plays the mother and is based on the true account of Ukrainian-born Natalia Grace and her American adoptive parents, who maintained that she was an adult sociopath masquerading as a child. “I’m going to approach that with the same heart and passion.”

Ellen Pompeo says “I’ll never truly be gone as long as that show (#GreysAnatomy) is on the air” #D23Expo pic.twitter.com/1i8Oof2EcD

— Deadline Hollywood (@DEADLINE) September 9, 2022

Pompeo, who is still an executive producer on Grey’s Anatomy, also disclosed when Meredith will return to the show after taking a break to film the Hulu series.

We’ll see if we can keep it going, and I’ll be back at Grey’s for the finale,” she added. I’ve spent the last 20 years of my career working on that show as an executive producer, and as long as it’s on the air, I’ll always be a part of it. Last month, Deadline reported exclusively that Pompeo will only appear in eight episodes of ABC’s top scripted series during the upcoming 19th season. She is currently starring in and executive producing an eight-episode Hulu limited series titled Untitled Orphan: Orphan.

“[Grey’s is] still going to be fine without me — I’m still going to do the voiceover,” Pompeo told Deadline today on the red carpet for the Disney Legends ceremony at the D23 Expo, confirming that she will continue to provide narration for the series as Meredith.

She expressed hope that her fans would “come with me” to watch the Hulu series, in which she portrays the mother in a drama based on the true story of Ukrainian-born Natalia Grace and her U.S. adoptive parents, who claimed she was an adult sociopath posing as a child. “I’ll invest the same enthusiasm and fervor into it.” “And I’ll be returning to Grey’s for the series finale, and we’ll see if we can continue,” she said.
