Marshawn Lynch, a former running back for the Seattle Seahawks, was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI, on Tuesday in Las Vegas. USA Today reports that the 36-year-old was arrested after police discovered him dozing off while driving a Shelby GT500. Officers made a note of Lynch’s vehicle’s “undrivable condition” during the arrest. The front passenger tyre had nearly detached from the rim, and the front driver’s side wheel and rim were already gone.<\/p>\n

Officers “observed a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle, his person, and his breath along with bloodshot, watery eyes” when they found Lynch, per the police report. Lynch “stated that he was not drinking and he does not do drugs,” the report states, despite the officers’ observations to the contrary. According to the police report, the ex-NFL running back also admitted that “he stole the vehicle.”<\/p>\n

Having been born on April 22, 1986, Marshawn Terrell Lynch is a former American football running back who spent 12 years in the National Football League (NFL). He played the vast majority of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, where he earned the nickname “Beast Mode” for his powerful running style.<\/p>\n

Lynch was a first-team All-American rusher for the University of California and finished his collegiate football career as the Golden Bears’ second all-time leading rusher. Lynch rushed for 1,722 yards and 23 touchdowns in just eight regular season games in 2003, and he added another 375 yards and 10 scores in two playoff games. Lynch’s teammates make jokes that he is obsessed with fast food chains because of the video interview that has gone viral on the internet because of something Lynch says about how much he likes Applebee’s.<\/p>\n

Lynch is well-known for his active participation in the local community. He organized a successful food drive for his community in 2013, and the effort was highlighted in Red Bull’s “Athletes Give Back” campaign. Lynch, while stationed in Seattle, once donated his backpack to Doug Baldwin, a junior player, after Baldwin had asked where he had gotten it from. Only Lynch traveled to the airport to comfort defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. after the death of Norton Sr. It was in 2014 that he discovered a wallet at a petrol station outside of Seattle.
