The OA is a science fiction, fantasy, and horror television series from America. Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the show’s executive producers, have already collaborated three times.<\/p>\n

Th On December 16, 2016, Netflix originally released The OA. There are two seasons totaling 48 episodes, with Batmanglij serving as the show’s director for the most of them. Plan B Entertainment and Anonymous Content collaborated on the production.<\/p>\n

Prairie Johnson, a young woman who has been missing for seven years, is portrayed by Marling. She was blind before she arrived. Prairie can now make out “the OA.” The show was picked up by Netflix for a second season on February 8, 2017, and it will premiere on March 22, 2019. The writers of the show had intended for it to have five seasons, but Netflix abruptly cancelled it on August 5, 2019, leaving viewers hanging.<\/p>\n

Critics primarily gave The OA positive reviews. Part I received an average rating of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, while Part II received an average rating of 92 percent. The show’s impact on society and culture, as well as its aesthetics and acting, received high appreciation.<\/p>\n

It’s unfortunate that The OA: Part III won’t be available on Netflix quite yet. The newly launched, August 2019-launched streaming service will discontinue the programme after after two seasons.<\/p>\n

“We are happy with The OA’s 16 engaging chapters and with Brit and Zal, who shared their brave idea and made it come to life with the wonderful expertise they have,” said Cindy Holland, president of originals and programming at Netflix. In the future, we intend to collaborate with them once more on this and other initiatives.<\/p>\n

Fans staged demonstrations and went on hunger strikes after The OA was cancelled. Even if the series concluded with a movie, Variety claimed in late August that the showrunners had no intention of continuing it.<\/p>\n

But they opted against it since a movie wouldn’t have enough time to wrap out a five-season story arc. Another network won’t be able to pick up the show without extensive talks because Netflix was one of the show’s producers.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy Instagram post, Brit Marling praised her followers for trying to keep the programme alive but also declared that going forward, it will only exist “in our hearts.” This being the case, I suppose it’s time for us to bid each other a final farewell.<\/p>\n

What led to the discontinuation of Oa Season 3<\/h2>\n

Given that The OA was planned to have five seasons, it’s odd that Netflix doesn’t disclose the number of viewers. In a July 2018 interview with IndieWire, Holland said that the programme was previously conceived as a multi-season Netflix<\/a> series. She described The OA as “awe-inspiring.”<\/p>\n

“Jason Isaacs<\/strong><\/a>, a well-known actor in the film, plays the bad guy. Dr. Hap stated in a March 2019 conversation with us that Netflix placed the project on hold since they appeared to no longer care about it.<\/p>\n
