In Manhattan, New York City, Henry Franklin Winkler was born on October 30, 1945. His father, Harry Irving Winkler, was a timber importer and exporter, and his mother, Ilse Anna Marie (n\u00e9e Hadra), was a stay-at-home mom. Richard Belzer, who is his cousin and also an actor, has a sister named Beatrice. German Jews from Berlin were the parents of Winkler.
