Spiderhead is based on George Saunders’ short tale Escape from Spiderhead from The New Yorker. The script was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick of Deadpool fame.<\/p>\n

Chris Hemsworth plays Steve Abnesti in Spiderhead, Miles Teller plays Jeff, and Jurnee Smollett plays Lizzy.<\/p>\n

Hemsworth is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which he will do again in 2022 with Thor: Love and Thunder.<\/p>\n

Outside of the MCU, the Australian actor usually does a mix of straightforward action movies like Extraction and 12 Strong and movies like Bad Times at El Royale where he can do something a little different. Spiderhead looks more like the second one.<\/p>\n

Starting Friday, June 17, Spiderhead will only be available on Netflix.
