Discovery spoke highly of Netflix and “Stranger Things,” and predicted that the annual summit will be “a terrific week.” When it comes to streaming strategy, Zaslav said that Warner Bros. Discovery is evaluating quality versus quantity concerns.<\/p>\n

The Invitation-Only Conference.<\/h2>\n

He told Variety when he arrived at Sun Valley Lodge for the invitation-only conference, “That indicates, I think, a lot of opportunities. “Also, Warner Bros.<\/a> Discovery has excellent, high-quality programming. I think it\u2019s the biggest news brand in the world with the greatest journalists. And that’s where we’re going to put our focus. Because we aren’t going to worry about the reviews, it will be more valuable in the long term.<\/p>\n

HBO Max and Discovery+<\/a> will eventually be integrated into one platform under Zaslav’s leadership at Warner Bros. No specific date has been set for WBD’s debut of the merged product, but at Sun Valley, Zaslav reiterated that the company’s long-term goal is to merge the two products. “Stranger Things” Season 4 was split into two volumes and released almost a month apart by Netflix, which may have an impact on Warner Bros. Discovery’s own approach to the show’s launch across its streaming platforms, according to Zaslav.<\/p>\n
