The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has stated that all schools in Dubai will be closed for Eid Al Fitr beginning Monday, May 2.<\/p>\n

KHDA said on Twitter that schools around the emirate would resume on Monday, May 9.
\nIf Ramadan lasts for 30 days, private-sector workers will be given a five-day break starting on Saturday, April 30 and ending on Wednesday, May 4.<\/p>\n

If the holy month is just 29 days long, these workers will only be paid from April 30 to Tuesday, May 3.
\nIn the meanwhile, the UAE Cabinet<\/a> has granted a week-long Eid al-Fitr break for all federal government bodies functioning throughout the nation, beginning Saturday, April 30, and ending Friday, May 6.<\/p>\n

On Monday, May 9, federal workers will return to work.<\/p>\n

The Emirates Astronomical Society (EAS) announced earlier this month that Eid Al Fitr in the UAE is expected to occur on Monday, May 2. If it were the case, Ramadan would have lasted 30 days this year.<\/p>\n

Last week, authorities stated that the UAE<\/a> public sector will be closed from Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 6, for Eid Al Fitr, a nine-day holiday if the two weekends are included.<\/p>\n

From the 29th of Ramadan (Saturday, April 30) through the 3rd of Shawwal<\/a>, the private sector will be closed. Because Ramadan is projected to last 30 days this year, the private sector public holiday is expected to last until Wednesday, May 4, with business resumed on Thursday, May 5.<\/p>\n

Following the passing of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dubai schools will be closed on Monday, May 16th. The group also expressed their condolences on Sheikh Khalifa’s demise.<\/p>\n

The KHDA’s declaration coincides with the UAE government’s mandate that all public and private businesses shut for three days. All ministries, departments, and federal agencies, as well as municipal and private enterprises, will be closed until Tuesday, May 17th.<\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the UAE will observe a forty-day national mourning period beginning today, with the flag flying at half-mast.
