Within the Paterson Police Force, Nine Officers Have Recently Been Promoted to Captain, Lieutenant, and Sergeant

On Wednesday, nine officers within the Paterson Police Department were given promotions to various ranks, bringing their total number of promotions to nine.

According to the officials, the promotions were given as a symbol of appreciation for the officers’ great leadership, devotion, and hard work.

Thomas Giaquinto, Giuseppe Giordano, Wilson Lazu, Ariel Sandoval, and Christopher Polankay were all promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Steven Rooney was promoted to the rank of Captain; Erick Colondres, Claude Mineo, and Karen Rayfield were all promoted to the rank of Lieutenant; and Steven Rooney was promoted to the rank of Captain.

“Each officer before us is tasked with imparting the experience, knowledge, and wisdom they developed onto the officers they will supervise,” Police Chief Engelbert “Bert” Ribeiro said during a promotional ceremony at City Hall.

The director of public safety, Jerry Speziale, used the opportunity to congratulate the newly promoted officers and to thank them for their dedication to the community they serve and the protection it provides.
