Pennsylvania School Van Crash Leaves 1 Dead and 4 Injured, Reports Say

According to accounts from WPXI, WTAE, and TribLive, a three-vehicle accident on Monday resulted in one woman’s death and four other individuals, including three primary school pupils, being hurt.

Around 3:30 pm, the incident happened on Furnace Hill Road in Dunbar Township, Fayette County.

Brenda Dewitt, 56, was driving west when she attempted to pass the car in front of her, according to state police. She failed to return to her lane in time and collided directly with an eastbound van of the Connellsville Area School District.

At the scene, Dewitt was pronounced deceased. Richard Watson, the 73-year-old van driver, and one of the pupils were helicoptered to nearby medical facilities. The other two pupils were transported.
