His wife, actress Shannon Tweed, revealed on Instagram that Kiss co-founder and bassist Gene Simmons spent the first day of the new week in the hospital. The 73-year-old musician reassured his followers by claiming he was just hospitalized for almost an hour and it was “no big thing.”
Simmons told Page Six about his daughter Sophie’s planned wedding from his El Segundo, California restaurant before he was hospitalized. Tweed, at 65 years old, shared a picture of Simmons’ yellow-socked feet from the hospital.
Those hospital socks are awesome, she exclaimed. It’s “kidney stone blasting time” again for Simmons. In jest, Tweed followed the hashtag with “sad baby.” Gene Simmons posted a now-deleted video to their Instagram Story from his hospital bed a few hours later.
Simmons wrote in the video’s description through Blabbermouth, “Hey, thnx you guys for the calls, but honestly I’m great.” “To record this, Shannon… Simple kidney stone removal by cleansing the tubes.
It’s not as bad as it seems at first glance. It took an hour, and then I drove somewhere for a hot dog. Thanks for the kind wishes.” Simmons had surgery for kidney stones in October of this year. During his operation at Cedars-Sinai, a stent was placed in his urethra to facilitate the passage of kidney stones.

Within a week, it was apparently taken down. Kiss had to cancel a show in Salt Lake City because of the operation. Simmons met down with Page Six to inform them of his daughter Sophie’s upcoming wedding to James Henderson before he was rushed to the hospital.
Simmons has announced that the wedding will take place on one of their Malibu estates in February. “To be honest, I’m not prepared. In one moment, she’s nothing more than a set of cheeks on tiny legs. In a flash, she’ll be an adult lady, “, Simmons remarked.
“Please don’t ask me to do anything yet. Of course, it is occurring. In other words, she’s marrying a fantastic human being.” Simmons also maintained elsewhere in the interview that the current “End of the Road” world tour by Kiss would eventually come to a close.
Fans have joked that it will be an “endless” tour, but Simmons has stated that after the band has completed the recently added gigs, that will be it. He dropped a hint by saying, “I know where and when, but I’m not [revealing] yet.”
This was in reference to the tour’s final stop. “I am aware of the final calendar date. Contrarily, you wouldn’t want to open your Christmas presents in July, would you?” Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer currently make up the lineup for Kiss.

In 2014, the original lineup of Kiss—consisting of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss—was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Criss hasn’t performed with the band since 2004, while Frehley left in 2002, however, he did rejoin for the 2018 Kiss on the Kiss Kruise.
