When the police entered the house, they found Christine Madiraca lying on the floor and Divetro laying injured on the bed. Both individuals appeared to have been stabbed multiple times.

Divetro was transported to the emergency room after an ambulance was called for assistance.

Telemetry re-checked Christine Madiraca at approximately 2:13 p.m. and found that she had passed away.

On January 1, 2019, Divetro was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and first-degree murder in connection with the incident that occurred on December 31, 2018. On October 23, 2019, an indictment against him was presented to the court.

On September 14, 2022, during a hearing in which he entered a guilty plea, DiVetro was found to be guilty of Aggravated Manslaughter.

Because New Jersey has a law known as the “No Early Release Act,” DiVetro must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before the state can even consider granting him parole.
