AREA OF EAST BRUNSWICK – Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and East Brunswick Police Chief Frank LoSacco have announced that a man from New York has been charged with the murder of his mother at their home on Cozzens Court.
A welfare check request to the authorities was made at 11:09 a.m. on December 22, according to a news statement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office on December 23.

It took repeated welfare checks for police to discover that Carmen Gordon, 68, was dead from apparent injuries sustained in her home. In accordance with the press announcement, Gordon was deemed dead upon arrival.
According to the news release, Jason Gordon, 41, was identified as the perpetrator after an initial investigation headed by Detective Robert Thuring of the East Brunswick Police Department and Detective Kevin Schroeck of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
After learning that Jason Gordon is the victim’s son, police concluded that this was not a random act of violence.

According to the press release, on December 23 Jason Gordon was charged with first-degree murder, third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
